The Big, Big Story

A children's Christmas musical, for kids in pre-school through 6th grade,
that includes 13 original contemporary Christmas songs which include 3 Christmas carols.

The Big, Big Story introduces you to a reporter and camera person following up on a "tip" that a "big" story is about to take place. They interview the characters (a camera-shy star, angels who consider themselves "announcers" in the reporting business, wisemen in search of a "twinkling celestial body exclusively visible...etc.", shepherds with "baaaad" jokes, and a child with a red ribbon tied on one finger) and in the process of watching the "big story" unfold, they discover the birth of a savior at Christmas isn't just good news for the world... it's good news for them, too! You have the option of doing this musical live, or video-taping the speaking parts - just like the nightly news on TV. With a video, the speaking parts will be pre-recorded and that will leave all of your kids available to sing the songs the day of your performance.

The Big, Big Story includes:
1) 13 Christmas songs for children which include contemporary arrangements of 3 traditional Christmas carols and lots of claps / snaps / slaps / shoe-be-do's, sign language & motion options, and at least one song for your preschoolers to sing,
2) piano score with guitar chords,
3) a vocal CD (a recording of Cathy singing the full version of each song),
4) script with 9+ spoken parts and 5+ non-spoken parts (and the option to expand the parts to include more children or combine the parts for fewer children), prop list, and staging.

Purchase of this children's Christmas musical play grants you permission to make as many copies of the sheet music and script as needed for your performance plus permission to make and distribute copies of the vocal CD (a recording of Cathy singing the full version of each song) and lyric sheet to your children (a great way for them to learn the music quickly!).

You have your choice of a full-length 40-minute version ($39 plus shipping, performance time: 40 minutes) or a short version 20-minute ($29 plus shipping, similar script but fewer songs - performance time: 20 minutes).

To preview this Christmas musical play, a script and vocal CD (a recording of Cathy singing the full version of each song) are available for $7 plus shipping. If you'd like to use the 10-12 minute script and insert your own children's Christmas songs, purchase of performance rights for the script is $15 (script can be sent via e-mail to save shipping charges). If you already have a script written and would like to use some of the songs from this musical, sheet music is available for $3.00 per song plus shipping. Sheet music includes piano score, guitar chords and motions. No CD is included when you purchase sheet music for individual songs.

A keyboard CD (no vocals) is also available for $20 plus shipping, for those times when your piano player isn't available or when you need to free up your hands to teach actions or sign language. This CD may also be used for your performance - it's like hiring a piano player who plays the music the same way every time!

All orders must be prepaid. There are 3 ways to order:

2) Use your PayPal account. E-mail your order & mailing address to Cathy (cathy@cathysmusic.com) and she will send you a PayPal invoice. As soon as your PayPal invoice is paid, she will put your order in the mail.
3) Pay with a credit card over the phone. E-mail Cathy your phone number (cathy@cathysmusic.com) and she will call to take your order and credit card information over the phone.
All orders are shipped via priority mail. Overnight shipping rates are available for U.S. orders upon request.
All international orders must be placed via e-mail and paid through PayPal.
